I can’t say enough about Jon and his work to assemble our Yardistry 12 x 16 gazebo that we purchase from Costco. Originally we thought we could put it together ourselves but we quickly realized that it would end up looking like a 5 year old putting together a complicated Lego set. Then we started calling contractors. They came in two varieties: 1) low bid but they’ve never put one together, or 2) extremely high but because they were experienced with these gazebos and said that they are much more complex than you would first imagine, and that’s why they needed to charge the price they were quoting. Jon’s bid was extremely reasonable but the reason that we went with him was that he discussed a lot of subtle finishing touches to make the gazebo look perfect that were obviously born from experience in working with the Yardistry gazebos. He was very knowledgeable and we felt comfortable hiring him. On the day of the job he showed up on time. He had all the tools and accessories to get right to work. Many of the contractors told us that we would have to unbox the gazebo parts and stage them within 10’ of the job site. Jon told us to leave everything boxed and he took care of everything. Watching him work, it was obvious he has assembled a bunch of these units. His prep work was meticulous. It comes in 3 boxes and has hundreds of parts and it is not intuitive about what goes where. Jon immediately knew where every piece needed to go. I was really concerned about the fact that we were installing this gazebo on a deck and other contractors claimed it wasn’t possible because of the weigh, and others wanted to charge a large fee for mounting the gazebo to the deck. Jon installed everything and mounted the gazebo to the deck and even strung a set of lights that we bought from Costco. After the deck was assembled, I thought we were done but Jon spent a lot of time on the finishing touches that frankly I wouldn’t have been aware of. He had a paint pen to fix clean up any scuffs on the screws from his impact driver. He spent a lot of time working with the level on all the main parts to make sure the gazebo lined up correctly. I could totally see another contractor packing up and leaving without doing any of the finishing touches, but Jon clearly has a sense of pride in his work and wanted the job to look perfect. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jon for your Yardistry gazebo that you purchased from Costco. By sheer coincidence, we had some friends over earlier in the day while Jon was working and they had purchased the same gazebo and put it together themselves. They immediately said that they wished that they had paid someone to install it because it was too complicated and not worth the hassle. There is a time and a place for DIY, but in my opinion, unless you have experience in carpentry, and are willing to got through some trial and error, I would hire a professional to assemble the Yardistry gazebo from Costco, because you see them all over town, but it is a mixed bag of the quality of assembly. Frankly it it looks off it is really obvious. Jon is a pro and he will make the gazebo look fantastic. We are very happy with his work.

Jon was recommended by Yardistry, the manufacturer of our 12'x14' gazebo, as someone who could fix the mess that our other installer (On Point Assembly) left us with. Orginally, Jon was to take off the aluminum roof so he could get to the beams where the 8' long metal support pieces needed to be installed. Those had been left in a cardboard box on the lawn along with the ridge cap weather stripping. When Jon arrived, he immediately became aware of the extent of the shoddy workmanship and called in an associate to help with the roof. He pointed out the gaps where the roof sections should have been overlapping and where you could see the sky through the roof. There were a myriad of hardware issues (too many to list here); cracked wood beams; 3 of the 4 support posts were out of plumb-which were clearly noticeable just looking at the structure; and the base plinths were improperly installed and needed to be removed, trimmed, and reinstalled. Jon pointed out which boards were installed backwards; places where roof brackets were missing, and places where On Point had missed the pre-drilled holes and made their own. In short, Jon needed to take the entire gazebo down to the ground and complete a full rebuild. After that he went through the entire gazebo filling the cracked wood, touching up damaged wood and chipped hardware. And the result is beautiful. Jon is a true professional, takes pride in his work, is transparent about what he is doing and why, and in addition to that, offers very competitive pricing.
